DUBAI – The UAE State Security Department has announced the dismantling of a terrorist organisation accused of plotting to undermine the country’s security and stability.

Authorities confirmed the arrest of several members involved in covert activities aimed at destabilising the nation through planned terrorist and sabotage operations.

Investigations revealed that the group maintained links with Iran’s “Wilayat al-Faqih” ideology, with members reportedly adopting extremist beliefs that posed a threat to internal security. Officials said the organisation had been operating under a coordinated framework involving external entities.

Covert network

According to surveillance findings, members conducted recruitment and mobilisation efforts through secret meetings held both inside the UAE and abroad. These gatherings were part of a broader strategy to access sensitive locations and expand their network within the country.

Authorities disclosed that the group sought to influence Emirati youth by spreading misleading narratives and encouraging allegiance to foreign entities. The organisation also allegedly attempted to incite opposition to the UAE’s foreign policy and internal measures, while portraying the country negatively.

Funding channels

Investigations further uncovered that the network relied on unofficial channels to collect funds, which were then transferred to suspicious organisations outside the country. These financial activities were described as part of a structured effort to support external agendas.

Charges against those arrested include establishing and managing a secret organisation, pledging loyalty to foreign parties, and engaging in activities that undermine national unity and social cohesion.

Security response

The State Security Department reaffirmed its firm commitment to confronting threats to public safety and preserving stability.

Authorities also urged citizens and residents to report any suspicious activities through official channels, reinforcing collective efforts to maintain the country’s security framework.
